Press Release Summary = Elvis Presley Airport campaign 2001 - 2007.

Press Release Body = The "Elvis Presley International Airport, Memphis" campaign,
first publicised by wily Scott Shepard in the "Memphis Business Journal" 2001, and
subsequently in newspapers around the globe, including the British "News of the
World", raised a few eyebrows in the rest of Memphis media back then.

A couple of years later Memphis WMC TV5 took up the story and even ran a poll in
which the Elvis Presley International Airport proposal received more than 75% of the
vote!

Considering we already have a John Wayne, Ronald Reagan, Louis Armstrong and John
Lennon Airport, the reasons for the authorities in Shelby County Memphis to deny
Elvis such an honour is quite mystifying.

We are currently witnessing massive International media coverage of the 30th
Aniversary of Elvis Presley\'s tragic death on the 16th August 1977.

Obviously the world cannot forget the impact Elvis had on us all. Surely the Airport
authorities are aware too?
Memphis city is in the headlines worldwide because of Elvis Presley.
